Just now I registered for the @media 2005 Web Standards & Accessibility conference held in London on 9 and 10 June. Maybe I'll meet some of my readers there.
Long-distance air-fares currently don't fit in my budget, and this is the first such conference arranged at a convenient distance from Amsterdam, so I'm finally able to attend a true web developers conference.
I sort of attended the WWW9 conference held in Amsterdam back in 2000, but the company I worked for was acquired by a Swedish company which threw a party in Malmö the weekend just before the conference. Sunday 3:00 am I came home blurry-eyed, vague and half-drunk, and I missed an interesting Monday 9:00 am speech I can't remember the subject of. (Why do all these things have to start so early?) There was an intriguing presentation from a BBC official about the Web and TV interacting, and that exhausts my memories of this conference.
Let's be more awake this time, shall we?
Maybe we could even organise an informal post-conference JavaScript get-together, if anyone besides me is interested.

As a penniless student I can't afford the registration fee for the conference this year, but I'm seriously considering popping down to London for a day or two to hang out and see who I can meet. Assuming I make it down, I'd be very interested in a JavaScript get-together of some sort.

OK, let's try to arrange something. I was thinking of getting together on 11 June, the day after the conference.

I was thinking about attending the conference (even though the fact the webpage authors don't understand http standards makes it tough to look) but it really doesn't seem exciting enough. If there's interesting people about, I'd definately be interested in a Beer track.

I only just noticed this post. I live in London and would like to come along too :-). I'm not paying 500 quid for a ticket though! A JavaScript get-together around the same time sounds more affordable.
