Backgrounds show through in invisible tables

Background colors given to <col>, <tr>, and <tbody> on a table that is supposed to be invisible (visibility: hidden) still show up. Backgrounds given to individual cells or to elements inside cells are not shown (like expected).

I don't see any problem in either Safari 2.0.4 nor a recent WebKit Nightly.

Is this problem localised to Windows, or Safari 3 or something?

The problem could be seen on Windows with Safari 3.0.2 (beta).
The latest version of Safari on Windows is, as I'm writing, 3.0.4 (beta) and it seems to have fixed the bug.

No problem with Safari 2.0.4 on OS X 10.4
